OSAKA/TOKYO -- Panasonic Holdings is considering providing electric-vehicle batteries to Subaru, Nikkei has learned, in a deal that would expand the Tesla supplier's customer base in Japan.

The Japanese companies are soon expected to announce their plans to seek a supply agreement on EV batteries.
