Tesla built its first Cybertruck at Giga Texas, the company announced. This milestone marked the beginning of the mass production of the electric pickup truck. It also means that soon, the first Tesla customers will receive their Cybertruck.

Early Saturday morning, Tesla made a stunning announcement. The company said via Twitter that its first production Cybertruck rolled off the Giga Texas assembly line. The company shared an image of the steel beast surrounded by dozens of employees from the truck's production line. Elon Musk congratulated the team on this achievement.

Tesla said in 2022 that it plans to start production in mid-2023 and kept its promise. In recent months, there have been a lot of news from the truck production line. We watched with impatience and undisguised delight the progress of development and production. The earliest when we expected news was the end of July, but Tesla pleased us already in the middle of the month.

During the Q1 2023 earnings report, Musk said that the first Cybertruck deliveries should take place in the third quarter of the year at a gala event. These should be the first deliveries to customers. However, according to rumors, in August the first electric trucks will be handed over to the employees of the company who ordered Cybertruck. This is standard practice at Tesla.

At the moment, according to third-party estimates, there are about 1.7 million pre-orders for Cybertruck. This is a mind-blowing amount that will keep Giga Texas busy for years to come. According to Musk, there will be a slow ramp-up this year to reach a more significant level in 2024.
