Zeekr began accepting pre-orders for the Zeekr 001 FR on September 1, with its price tag not released, though it's expected to exceed 1 million yuan.
A slew of new models have made their way into a regulatory catalog in China, including Zeekr's Zeekr 001 FR (Future Road) electric supercar, which was officially announced by Zeekr earlier this month, allowing key specification information about those models to be revealed.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the latest catalog of models that will be allowed to be sold for public comment yesterday, and the Zeekr 001 FR is included.
The public can submit their feedback between September 13 and September 19. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process by which a model can be allowed to be sold in China.
There is only one version of the Zeekr 001 FR in the catalog, with length, width and height of 5,018 mm, 1,999 mm and 1,545 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.
For comparison, the regular Zeekr 001 has length, width and heights of 4,970 mm, 1,999 mm and 1,560 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.
The Zeekr 001 FR is powered by four electric motors with peak power of 155 kW, 155 kW, 310 kW and 310 kW.
The model weighs 2,525 kilograms and supports a top speed of 280 kilometers per hour.
The Zeekr 001 FR uses Li-ion ternary batteries supplied by CATL, and information on the battery pack capacity is unknown.
Zeekr was formally established as a separate company in March 2021, the Zeekr 001 was launched on April 17, 2021 and deliveries began in October 2021.
There are currently four options for the regular version of the Zeekr 001, two of which start at RMB 269,000 ($36,910) and the other two at RMB 319,000 and RMB 349,000 respectively.
Only one version of the regular Zeekr 001 comes with a single motor that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, while the other three have dual motors that can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
On September 1, Zeekr officially unveiled the Zeekr 001 FR, saying the model delivers up to 1,265 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.07 seconds.
For comparison, Tesla's fastest model, the Model S Plaid, has 1,020 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds.
Zeekr began accepting customer pre-orders for the Zeekr 001 FR on September 1, although pricing has not yet been announced. When the company previewed the model on August 10, it said the Zeekr 001 FR would be priced at more than RMB 1 million.
Deliveries of the Zeekr 001 FR will begin in October 2023, with a limited production run of 99 units per month, Zeekr said on September 1.
