Nissan taps ‘real car guy’ Ivan Espinosa as new CEO, succeeding Makoto Uchida

TOKYO — Embattled Nissan Motor Co. has appointed Ivan Espinosa its new CEO, entrusting the product planning chief to turbocharge a plodding turnaround plan started by outgoing boss Makoto Uchida, who will step down after a fitful five years at the helm leading the Japanese carmaker into the post-Carlos Ghosn era.
